Mexican Muralism with a True Art Lover
Overview of the tour in Mexico City
We will meet in front of the Diego Rivera Mural Museum, located a few steps from the Alameda Park. There we will make our introduction about one of the most complete murals on the history of Mexico: Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in the Alameda Central.
Then we will go to Palacio de Bellas Artes, an emblematic place in downtown, where we will see the murals of Rivera, Orozco and Siqueiros, known as "The Big 3".
Then we will walk along Madero Street and the Zócalo, talking about colonial and republican architecture, to the San Ildefonso Museum, cradle of muralism. There we will talk about the genesis of the artistic movement, and the problems/desires of the country at the time of the Mexican Revolution (which are still valid today)
