Poetry Tour in Mexico City
Overview of the tour in Mexico City
We will meet at the entrance of Casa de los Azulejos, an architectural jewel in downtown Mexico City. Our tour will begin with contemporary authors such as José Vicente Figueroa, Octavio Paz and Jaime Sabines.
Then we will go to the Temple of San Francisco, where we will enter the poetic world of Sor Juana Inés De la Cruz: from romanticism, syncretism and positivism of the letters.
We will continue walking along Avenida I. Madero to the Zócalo, where we will talk about the political, religious and anthropological dynamics of the country.
Finally, from outside the archaeological site of the Templo Mayor we will read the pre-Hispanic prodigy of Mesoamerican poetry: Nezahualcoyotl.
