Walking Tour: Basilica of Guadalupe: The Miracle of Tepeyac
Overview of the tour in Mexico City
This is the most important place of pilgrimage in Mexico, which receives, only on 4 days of December, more than 11 million pilgrims each year.
Our meeting point is the statue of Pope John Paul II, next to the Old Basilica.
From there we will go up the hill, and we will talk about the history of the place, as well as its religious tradition.
From this viewpoint, if the weather is favorable, a great view of the city opens up.
We will then visit the Cerrito Church, the Tepeyac Garden, the Pocito Church, the Old Indian Parish, the Old Basilica, and the New Basilica.
This is one of the must-see places in Mexico City.
This activity includes:
- Expiatory Temple to Christ The King
- Pocito Chapel
- Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe
- Monument to Pope John Paul II
- Tepeyac Garden

Things to note
The ascent to the Capilla del Cerrito and the viewpoint is through a staircase with many steps, which can be an impediment for people with mobility problems. In any case, on the way up there are several benches to sit on. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and headwear.
