Overview of the tour in Montevideo

This walk, which recalls places, events and characters that mark the identity and history of the neighborhood, has been taking place for more than 3 years, with great enthusiasm from the public.

An enjoyable tour through the streets where musicians, writers, actors, politicians and artists, as well as washerwomen, fishermen, stonecutters and artisans, typical popular characters who built this multicultural neighborhood with their efforts.

Join us at the point where the name "La Mondiola" originated and where today, the sculpture by Giorgio Carlevaro recalls the first immigrant communities that settled in this neighborhood and discover why, a century later, we still continue to defend the pride of being "los más ranas", as the lyrics of the tango "Garufa" say.
