Overview of the tour in Munich

We will discover the Old Town’s Architectural Highlights of Munich together during an entertaining 2:15-hour city walk.

We begin with the famous Frauenkirche, a gothic masterpiece underneath which lies a Romanesque treasure. Then, following the several superlatives of the ‘Michaelskirche,’ the first Renaissance church north of the Alps, we will dive into the abundance of Baroque and Rococo styles.

After discovering the strict classicism of the 'Bayerische Staatsoper' we continue to the unique Bavarian style of Historicism - the so-called 'Maximilianstil' and its almost forgotten architect.

After crossing the Isar River, we find ourselves in beautiful nature and ‘Jugendstil’ - Art Nouveau. Our tour ends with street art, a brand-new modern, polygonal-shaped museum. If the weather is good, we will go up to the cool, temporary rooftop bar ‘Dachgarten’ to enjoy one of the best views of the historic center. It's a great place to rest, eat, and drink under palm trees!

We will drive Maximilian Street by tram (ticket price included).

On arrival

I will be waiting for you at the Bronze City model, which is located 50m on the left side of the entrance to the church Frauenkirche. I can be easily recognized by my colorful backpack and grey cap. Getting there: It's best to get off at the S-Bahn and subway station U3/6 'Marienplatz' and walk 5 minutes to the meeting point. From the central station, 'Hauptbahnhof München', it is a 15-minute walk.

Things to note

I recommend wearing comfortable shoes, bringing a drink, and, if necessary, taking an umbrella or a cap with you.
