Overview of the tour in Nairobi

Kibera slum is a home to more than 300,000 people living within an area of approximately 3 square Kilometers and located close to 7kms from Nairobi City center. Due to their culture, The community here is vibrant, hence worth the visit every day.

The tour has the following stops and is scheduled as follows;

i)Green House mall-This is the meeting point
ii) Toi Market - This is the second-largest open air market in Nairobi where second hand clothes are sold to locals especially those from Kibera
iii)Kibera Pride initiative organization - get to interact with needy & vulnerable kids from Kibera Slum community
iv)Uweza Art Gallery - the art center is one of a kind, and it supports the kids & artists from the slum with the platform to explore their creativity
v)An aerial view of the slum near Kibera Town Centre, for viewing of a section of the slum from an elevated view
vi)Get to visit a local House (4m × 4m) in the slum
vii) Fairview Academy - visit a local school in the slum and get to discover the resilience in the slum
viii) Visit African Bone workshop to experience crafts & ornaments that they make from recycling bone materials
ix) Olympic Estate - Last stop for boarding a taxi.

Meeting point

Greenhouse mall

On arrival

Guests will meet me at the entrance of Greenhouse Mall along Ngong Road in Nairobi at the scheduled time. I will be wearing a black T-shirt.

Things to note

The safety of guests is guaranteed as they will be walking and guided by a local(me) who was born and raised in Kibera Slum.
