Overview

I am going to take you through Kibera Slum which is one of the largest slums in Africa. I am going to teach you the kind of lifestyle we live in our community.

We will also let you interact with the people within.
Our tour will start at our meeting point which is near our second president's homestead.

From there we will head directly to the slum where we will interact with the friendly guys around.
We will also visit the historic football pitches we have within our community

After visiting various places we will head to our resting points where we will have some drinks to energize ourselves then proceed with the rest of the tour

We will also visit the railway line teaching you how it came into existence

From there we will go to the viewpoint of the slum where can take group photos together and for the slum

From there we will be heading to our office where will be having chats as you wait for an Uber. The tours are being offered under a community based organization

“Great tour ”
Daniel was a superb tour guide. He showed me Kibera through the eyes of a local. He explained life in Kibera really well, and showed me some really interesting spots that only a local would know about. It was also very interesting to hear about the initiatives from Daniel's organisation Okolea Mtaa that help provide opportunities for local kids. And also getting to meet some of these kids, who were really sweet and really interested in getting to talk to tourists and ask questions.

“Great tour of Kibera!”
I would give Daniel 5 stars for his awesome walking tour of Kibera. Not only is he very knowledgeable, he is committed to 'giving back' to kids in the community. We enjoyed going to his office and seeing the great work he is doing with the kids. Don't skip this tour if you want to see another side to Nairobi, concerning but hopeful at the same time due to people like Daniel.

“Learning a new experience while helping slum kids”
Daniel provided a safe walking tour through the Kibera Slum while giving a fascinating history of the place and its people. Did you know that Kibera mean "forest"? Daniel can tell you how the name originated. More importantly, Daniel runs the tours to get the money to support his Okolea Mtaa Foundation which helps the slum kids through education and wholesome activities. Without such help, the kids could fall into a life of crime. By taking the Kibera Slum tour with Daniel and the Okolea Mtaa Foundation, you would be helping the kids too. Even better, make a small donation to the Foundation.

“Unique and authentic experience”
We made the best choice when booking this tour. Everything was well organised and the communication upfront was very easy. Daniel made sure that we were well informed and assisted whenever possible. The tour itself was so insightful. Our guides Stella and Elija showed us around, told us so much about the background of chocolate city and answered all our questions. In the end we got a short insight about the work they are doing with the Okolea foundation to help children in the area. Overall the experience was outstanding and I think this tour is a must do when in Nairobi.
