Discover Noia: Mysteries and Legends
Overview of the tour in Noia
Rúa Rodríguez Cadarso:
Beginning of the visit, where we will know the legend about the origin of the name of our town.
Church of Santa María a Nova:
From there came out the "Santa Compaña" dressed in black and with candles to seize the souls of the penitents. Javier Sierra's novel "The Lost Angel" is recreated inside the temple, where we will see the tomb of the merchant Xan de Estivadas.
Rúa Pedrachan:
Where we will see, if the tide is low, the fountain of the fairy. It is said that the river Traba forms a well with stairs in which lives a fairy that appears on the night of San Juan.
Praza do Tapal:
It was the parade ground of the Tapal Fortress and scaffold in the Middle Ages. We will also know the curse of the unfinished tower of the church of San Martiño.
Alameda de Noia:
End of the visit. We will see on the facade of the Town Hall the coat of arms of the town that shows the legend about Noah's ark.

Our Guides
On arrival
I will be at the back of the Casino building, also known as "killer" street. During the winter I wear on my lapel a brooch in the shape of a straw "sancosmeiro" hat with a black ribbon. In summer, I wear this same hat on my head to protect me from the sun.
