Original Nuremberg Old Town + 3rd Reich History
Overview of the tour in Nuremberg
Welcome to Nuremberg Free Walking Tours, designed by locals born and raised in the city. Our goal is to bring Nuremberg's rich history, culture, and architectural highlights to life during a 2.5-hour walking tour. Discover the city's "Golden Age" in the late Middle Ages and its "Dark Age" during the Third Reich.
You'll see stunning half-timbered houses, historic churches, and the iconic castle. Learn about Nuremberg's unique specialties and where to find the best spots to enjoy them. Visit the home of Germany's most important artist, Albrecht Dürer, and hear fascinating stories about the hangman Franz Schmidt and his surprising role as a feminist. Understand how Nuremberg has confronted its Nazi-era heritage and how the city was rebuilt after its destruction in World War II.
After the tour, we'll be happy to answer any questions and assist with your plans in and around Nuremberg. See you soon in "Naemberch"!
