Third Reich Tour
Overview of the tour in Nuremberg
Our tour begins at the Flieger-Denkmal, a memorial of the fighter pilots of WWI and WWII. Continuing our exploration, we arrive at the remainings of the former Luitpoldarena, a striking amphitheater designed for propaganda events and military displays, but today also a place to mourn the victims of the Nazi regime.
We proceed to the Kongresshalle, a hall intended as a monumental centerpiece for propaganda events. Though never completed, its reflecting the intend to manipulate the masses by spectacle. As we move through the sprawling grounds, we encounter Zeppelinfeld, another imposing arena built to host mass gatherings. We also take our time to reflect the Nuremberg trials, the aftermath to the 3rd Reich. Here the surviving ranks of the Nazi regime were brought to justice.
This heritage, including the Nazi rallies, the events leading up to World War II the Nuremberg trials and most important the Holocaust, are the key to understand modern German political culture.
We end at the Doku-Zentrum, a museum dedicated to documenting the history of the Nazi rallies. Here, you'll have the opportunity to extend your insights into the ideology, propaganda, and atrocities of the Third Reich.
