Overview of the tour in Orense

“There are three things in Ourense that you cannot find in the rest of Spain: The Holy Christ, the Roman Bridge, and As Burgas”. This saying perfectly defines what we are going to discover during this tour.

We will meet at Plaza Mayor. We will talk about the City's Roman origins, with its thermal baths and its Roman Bridge.

Between the Alameda Park and As Burgas the Mercado de Abastos is located. The City of Ourense has a natural water source that emanates boiling water and its name is As Burgas. The city is also famous for its outdoor thermal pools, people visit all year round.

San Martiño's Cathedral is known for housing the chapel with an image of the Holy Christ crucified on the cross, which is believed it is alive. The tradition says that even Christ's hair grows. Here you can also see the Pórtico del Paraíso, one of the most impressive and best-preserved porticos, reminiscent of the Pórtico de la Gloria in Santiago de Compostela's Cathedral.

Ourense is also known and famous for its gastronomy and great variety in tapas and wines. In an area surrounding the Cathedral, the well-known “zona de Vinos” is located. Can you imagine a better place to finish our route?

The meeting point is at Praza Maior, (Plaza Mayor). There, look for the BLUE UMBRELLA that your guide will be carrying.

Things to note

- We kindly ask to be punctual with at least 10 minutes in advance of starting time.
- The customer can request receipt of their payment or claim forms.
- Free payment for each attendee at the end of the visit.
- Reservations for free tours will be held for 5 minutes after the start of the visit. Once this time has passed, the places will be released for
other people interested in attending.
- Bookings of more than 6 people in the same group of friends or family are not allowed. In case of making separate reservations for a group
larger than 6 people, the guide can refuse the attendees at the same meeting point.
- If you will not be able to attend, please cancel beforehand so others can book your places.

You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
