The Wonderful Free Tour of Montmartre
Overview of the tour in Paris
we will start at Place Blanche in Paris, exit of the metro Blanche (line 2, dark blue), behind the kiosks, under the trees! This point is located at the intersection with number 82 Boulevard de Clichy, very close to the Moulin Rouge.
We will return to the Belle Époque in front of the Moulin Rouge cabaret, who doesn't want a photo with its emblematic windmill? Then, we will cross the Lépic street to reach the Cafe deux Moulins, scene of some scenes of the movie Amélie.
Next, we will see the building where Vincent Van Gogh lived and discover the influence of the impressionists on his art. We will continue our walk through the streets of Montmartre to reach Le Bateau Lavoir, Picasso's first studio in Paris!
A few steps away we will find the Moulin de la Galette, source of inspiration for Renoir. We will pass by the Place Dalida and stop by the Maison Rose. Do you want to know what this building has to do with Picasso? We'll find out before approaching the Lapin Agile cabaret.
After a tour of about two and a half hours, we will conclude our free tour of the painters' quarter at the Sacré-Coeur Basilica.
