Free Tour: Women in French History
Overview of the tour in Paris
This tour of the Latin Quarter has a dual purpose: not only will it guide you through some of the area's most emblematic sites, but it will also allow you to discover the lives and legacies of exceptional women who made their mark on history. From the tragic figure of Marie Antoinette, to the brilliant scientist Marie Curie, to the heroic young Joan of Arc, you will learn the stories of women who defied their time and left an indelible mark on Paris and the world.
To know where we are going, it is important to know and understand where we come from. Dacia Maraini, Italian writer, said that: 'when women die, they die forever, condemned to the double end of flesh and oblivion. We will not be able to do anything about the flesh, but about oblivion... we have a long way to go.
