Montmartre and Pigalle (Red Light District)
Overview of the tour in Paris
With a university degree in Art History, I suggest, unlike the rest of the tours in this area, visiting two neighborhoods instead of just one, the Pigalle neighborhood (Red Light District) and the Montmartre neighborhood of the artists.
In Pigalle, we will see the Hotel de la Paiva, one of the most famous courtesans of the time, we will talk about the romantics, the famous cabaret Le Chat Noir and the painter Degas. We will see Wallace's fountain, the Bains de Pigalle, and the Moulin Rouge.
Start the ascent to Montmartre via rue Lepic to visit the coffee where the film Amelie was filmed, and also the beautiful Abbesses' Square to see the Love Wall. We continue our walk to the Bateau-Lavoir, a residence where Picasso lived, the Moulin de la Galette, and the statue of the martyr Saint-Denis to learn about its history. See the house where the famous singer Dalida lived, and we will cross the Place de Tertres, painter's Square, find the second older church in Paris, and finish in the Sacre Coeur Basilica.
With this tour, I intend to transmit my knowledge and my love for these two bohemian neighborhoods full of magic so that you can learn about their history and anecdotes.
