This tour aims to mix the wonderful place of Paris with the most tragic event in history: The Second World War.
Significant events related to the war happened in Paris; some places are still marked with scars from the war. Together, we will walk approximately 2.5 kilometers in Paris to discover areas where events related to the War happened. The goal is to give you a good sense of how the city was back then; Mainly, we will focus on 3 topics:
- The Fall of Paris: How did the German army reach Paris, the French Capital, in only 35 days of combat? What happened in the city during these 35 crucial days?
- The Resistance: How did the Resistance start in the city? We will follow the steps of an early resistance fighter who was part of the first Resistance network in the town, called Musée de l'Homme
Liberation: How did the Allies finally free Paris after four years of occupation? We will talk about the fights that took place in the city in August 1944, and you will see how closely Paris came to being greatly damaged.
All aboard this journey in the past to discover Paris under the light of the Second World War! And for those who want, we can have a drink together at the end!
