Montmartre was not only the epicentre of Impressionism at the end of the XIX century, but also served as a field of great battles during the Franco-Prussian War or the Paris Commune. At the top, you will find the famous and spectacular Sacre Coeur, an important religious temple. Culture, fun and history make up this high-ranking cocktail that is the Tour de Montmartre.
On the right bank of the River Seine lies a big hill named Montmartre, literally translating “Mountain of the Martyr”. This beautiful and atmospheric neighbourhood is the birthplace of 19th century Impressionism and the Bohemian centre of Paris.
