Survivors of Piraeus Walking Tour Athens
Overview of the tour in Piraeus
On this tour, we will explore the world of toil and the variety of ways refugees used in order to survive in the Middle War era! We are used to TV shows that simulate survival! On this tour, we will see the actual survival itself!
In the turbulent years of wars in the first half of the twentieth century, people of all walks of life arrived at the biggest port in the country: There co-existed refugees, musicians, whores, and laborers! Most of them lived in dens built on ancient ruins or above the rails of trains.
These people had to decide between an honest day’s work or drug addiction, God or sin, staying or leaving. How did they manage to survive?
