Embark on an exciting journey from Borovets to Plovdiv, just 120 km away and approximately 2 hours by car! In Plovdiv, we will visit fascinating places that will transport you to the past.
We will start by exploring the Old Theatre, which shines in the heart of the old town and is the only restored and functioning ancient theater in Bulgaria. We will also visit the Roman stadium, the Regional Ethnographic Museum, and the Hippocrates Pharmacy Museum.
We will walk through the old town and admire the Eastern Gate of the medieval Fortress. In this city, the imposing buildings create a unique atmosphere that can still be perceived today. Plovdiv is the oldest city in Europe where life never stopped and ranks sixth in the world according to the ranking carried out by the Daily Telegraph in 2010.
Afterward, we will drive 30 minutes to Asen's Fortress, the oldest cultural monument in Asenovgrad. The fortress was built on a solid rock and consisted of two parts: a highly fortified upper part, where the feudal castle was located, and a lower part, where the settlement was located.
