Step into the vibrant history of Podgorica and discover why it is far from being the “most boring capital in Europe.” Tatjana, a licensed tour guide, will lead you on this tour.
Explore the living history of Podgorica that stretches from ancient times (BC) to the present day on our colorful tour of the city’s oldest streets. Starting from the iconic Clock Tower, we will wind through the historical heart of “Stara Varoš.”
Across the confluence of two rivers and an old bridge, we will go through the history of the last and longest ruling Petrovic dynasty, all the way to the city center and the main town square, which was made up during the time of Petrović becoming the main gathering center in modern times.
Together, we will discover stories about past eras and important landmarks that have shaped Podgorica’s identity over the centuries. Each of these stations promises an insight into Podgorica’s rich heritage.
Join us on an adventure filled with laughter, learning, and surprises around every corner.
Be sure to bring walking shoes, sunscreen, and water; they’re essential. You’ll also have a five-minute break for a photo session.

Things to note
The tour includes walking on stairs, but nothing strenuous. Choose walking shoes/sneakers that perform equally well in changing weather conditions. Also, don’t forget to bring water and a hat/sunscreen during summer. I’ll try to find some shade, though :)

The tour will be called off if a hailstorm or heavy rain causes street flooding along the route or makes it unsafe due to hail stones.
- The tour will be cancelled during the summer if the temperature exceeds 38° Celsius.
