Become Ukrainian, Eat like Ukrainian, Live like Ukrainian Tour
Overview of the tour in Poltava
We will start early morning around 4:30 and drive to the riverside to watch the sunrise and breathe thick morning fog that covers fields and the river. At this time, it is possible to spot how storks and other birds are walking through the area looking for food.
At 7:00 o'clock we will have a "babushka" breakfast which is cooked by my granny. It includes Syrniki(quark pancakes), Vareniki, and home milk or Uzvar.
After we finish our meal, we will head to the coniferous forest where the locals usually hunt for mushrooms and listen to the sound of trees. Under my strict control and guidance, we will search for eatable mushrooms and learn how the poisonous one looks like.
The next stop at 12:00 is a pond nearby. We will have lunch there, consisting of traditional food like Borsch, Salo, Pickled vegetables, and homemade drinks.
For the following 4 hours, we will be fishing at the pond for fishes like carp, tench, or pike perch. Don't worry, we have all of the equipment for you to catch the biggest fish :)
At 18:00 for dinner, we will cook Shashlik on the open fire together. You will hear many interesting facts and stories about local life, food, people, and the history of Ukraine.
