Tour from Gaia to Ribeira and Boat on the Douro River
Overview of the tour in Porto
The Douro River is witness to the birth and evolution of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. With this tour you will learn, with a guide in English, the curiosities of both villages, while you enjoy a walk along its banks and complete the experience with a pleasant boat ride.
We will start our visit in front of the Gaia municipal market, a place where the typical Portuguese gastronomy plays a very important role and, just in front of it, we will find the cable car of the city.
From this shore we will observe how the Cathedral of Oporto dominates the city and very close we will find the Cálem Winery, one of the most outstanding in Portugal.
Our walk continues to observe the remains of the Fernandine Walls of Porto or talk about the Jardim do Morro, one of the most famous parks and viewpoints of Gaia.
As we cross the Don Luis I Bridge, we will learn about its relationship with Gustave Eiffel and, already on the banks of Porto, we will stop to get an incredible view of the Serra do Pilar Monastery.
We will end our tour in the Ribeira to embark on a cruise in a Rabelo boat on the Douro River for about 50 minutes.

Meeting point: In front of the entrance of the Beira-Rio Market, at the edge of Vila Nova de Gaia. Look for a blue-green flag with the name Strolling through Europe.

- At the end of the walking tour, please accompany our guide to the boarding area, as he will take care of the tickets to facilitate your access to the boat.
