Alchemy and Mysteries of Prague Castle
Overview of the tour in Prague
This tour is a mixture of legends and historical facts, taking you to one of Prague’s most enchanting areas.
You’ll experience the unique opportunity to see the Prague Castle and its surroundings in a quiet, enchanted atmosphere, without the bustle of people. And, you’ll pass by the Golden Lane that was, for one brief period in time, home to the famous author Franz Kafka.
As dusk falls and the crowds thin, you'll wander past places influenced by the world of alchemy and astrology, such as Strahov Monastery, the magical Loreto, or Czernin Palace. Hear the tales of the Golem or the Devil's Bible as you explore the enchanting New World, hidden even from many locals.
Your guide will lead you through the city’s dark and often esoteric history, from “Good King” Wenceslas to Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV and on to the golden age of Prague during Emperor Rudolf II. Finish your tour with a night view of Prague at the largest castle complex in the world.
The fee for your public transit ride from Lesser Town to the Castle area is included in the tour price.
