Explore Puerto de la Cruz and its Tourist History
Overview of the tour in Puerto de la Cruz
Discover Puerto de la Cruz, the most important city and tourist center in the north of Tenerife. Founded in the 16th century, it was one of the most important ports of the island during the colonial era, along with Garachico and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In addition, it was the first tourist destination in the world, attended by illustrious personalities such as Kaiser Wilhelm II, the Duke and Duchess of Kent and even relatives of Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria and the younger brothers of the Romanov family. This allows us to experience firsthand the transformation of one of the most emblematic places of the island.
The visit begins next to the sculpture of Angel Martin Acosta, and then we will visit the new pier and Plaza Europa, where we will talk about the footprint of the Canary Islands in America. We will visit the Mirador de San Telmo, where we will tell the story of César Manrique and his imprint with the famous Martiánez Lake. We will stroll through the historic center and finish in the Barrio de la Ranilla, the most colorful and lively area of the city.
I invite you to discover this city by the hand of Canarias te Guía, a team of official guides, experts in our towns and cities, we are waiting for you!
