Explore Puerto de la Cruz and its Tourist History

Discover Puerto de la Cruz, the most important city and tourist center in the north of Tenerife. Founded in the 16th century, it was one of the most important ports of the island during the colonial era, along with Garachico and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In addition, it was the first tourist destination in the world, attended by illustrious personalities such as Kaiser Wilhelm II, the Duke and Duchess of Kent and even relatives of Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria and the younger brothers of the Romanov family.
