Overview

You will get familiar with this magnificent city, which stands proudly on the banks of the river Daugava for more than 800 years, however never gets old. Different kinds and rulers have always regarded this city as the most valuable part of their possessions, however, the city and the citizens have always been too proud to subject fully and all the rulers have granted to the city the privileges to live according to own rules :)
The old city counts for only 1/600 part of the whole city, however, in those buildings and narrow streets you can feel the complex history of this small spot of land.
Did you know that this used to be the biggest city in the Swedish kingdom? Did you know the world's largest planes were produced here? Did you know the world's smallest cameras were produced here as well? Did you know the inventor of jeans was born here? :)
You will hear about these and many other interesting facts and people during the tour, and you will also see the impressive architecture of the Old City, which is proudly listed on UNESCO world heritage list.
Hope to see you soon!

“Great overview of Riga's centre and history”
We really enjoyed our tour with Andris through Riga's centre. He gave us a lot of information about the buildings, the history and the people. This tour is especially useful at the beginning of a stay in Riga, because he also provided suggestions for further sights to visit, restaurants, etc.

“A very informative and interesting tour of Riga old town”
Andis gave the 3 of us a fascinating tour of the old town, full of the history of Riga, as well as local knowledge and information. It was supposed to be a 2 hour tour, but in fact Andis gave us 3 hours of his time. Although it was a 'free' tour, we wanted to show our appreciation and gave Andis cash. Thanks very much Andis!

“Riga Old Town”
Absolutely amazing tour, the best walking tour we have ever been on. Andis was so intellectual and included small details others may not have. He was extremely friendly and welcoming, he even added an extra bit of the tour to include some Scottish facts. We would 100% recommend this tour with Andis.

“Riga walking tour”
The guide speaks English with such an accent that it is very hard to understand the content. We were not impressed.
