Soviet Riga Free Tour
Overview of the tour in Riga
What was it like to live in the Soviet Union for Latvians? How was the average person's life affected by the occupation? We will uncover how Latvians fought to regain their independence and how they suffered in the decades that followed the Second World War.
We will pose questions in regard to the effects of Soviet rule on the current psyche and how certain conditions left after the Soviet era pose contemporary issues within society. Along the route, we will visit a number of important locations and get closer through first-hand accounts from those who lived through the Soviet occupation.
