Trail on Morro da Urca
Overview of the tour in Rio de Janeiro
The Morro da Urca trail is one of the most fascinating experiences you can have when visiting Rio de Janeiro!
This approximately 1.3-kilometer trail offers a stunning hike through the lush Tijuca Forest, one of the world's largest urban forests. As hikers ascend the trail, they are rewarded with spectacular views of the city, Guanabara Bay, and the famous Sugarloaf Mountain. The route is challenging but rewarding, with opportunities to spot local wildlife and flora, such as marmosets, toucans, and orchids.
At the end of the trail, adventurers reach Morro da Urca, a natural platform that offers incredible panoramas of Rio de Janeiro and serves as the starting point for the cable car ride to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. It's a unique experience that combines nature, adventure, and breathtaking views of the Marvelous City.
The walk on the trail is accompanied by a tour guide registered with the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism and fluent in Portuguese, as well as intermediate-level English and Spanish, to provide all the safety and information necessary during the route.
