Free Tour of the Trastevere Quarter and Janiculum in Rome
Overview of the tour in Rome
On this tour we will go through the lively district of Trastevere, with its great gastronomic offer and its popular houses. After getting to know in depth its urbanism still anchored in the Middle Ages, we will pass by "the oldest fountain in Rome" and the star monument of the neighborhood: the church of Santa Maria in Trastevere. Before going up to the Janiculum, we will visit Santa Maria della Scala to learn about one of the most controversial stories by a famous Baroque painter.
The second part of the tour will go through the Janiculum where we will learn the story of the mysterious Queen Christina of Sweden, the Temple of Bramante in San Pietro in Montorio, the patriot monument of the revolutionaries of Garibaldi and end with the viewpoint of Scattoli with its panoramic views and its fountain Agua Paola as a witness. I will carry a Spanish flag to be visible.
