Overview of the tour in Rome

Rome’s Ultimate Free Walk is an in-depth look at the city’s history, with a view to understanding her present. This tour will get you acquainted with the “B Side” of the Eternal City, presenting stories and sites that might not always be as well-known

Our tours are given by a group of passionate, enthusiastic, and educated guides who have detailed knowledge of Rome’s rich past and how to get the most out of the city

The walks are offered in smaller groups, with no headsets or umbrellas, and with a maximum of 15 participants so as to give an intimate and personalized exploration of this unique city. We aim to show you the rich core of Roman history, an introduction to Christianity and its origins in Rome, and a connection between the layers of the development of the Eternal City starting from the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, through the Renaissance and Baroque, and all the way to modern times

This tour lasts 2.5-3 hours, covers around 3 km, and is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers

Our concept aims to give the highest quality exploration of Roman past and present, with no fee, and allow people to tip the guide to the value of their experience at the end of the walk.

This activity includes:

Meeting point

Porta del Popolo, piazzale Flaminio Roma

On arrival

We meet at 'Porta del Popolo,' the gate with three arches by Piazza del Popolo, and our meeting time is from 11 am to 11:10 am or from 4 pm to 4:10 pm. As you look at the gate from the outer façade, on the side of the METRO A ('Flaminio' stop), you will see two statues, one on each side of the main central arch. The statue on the left of a man holding a book is where we gather, and there you will find our guide.
