Overview of the tour in San Salvador

If you're passionate about discovering the history of El Salvador's capital, walking its streets with a local, and meeting fellow travelers, this tour is perfect for you. We'll gather at Gerardo Barrios Plaza, right in the heart of the city, to dive into the history and intriguing stories of San Salvador.

What will we visit?
-Plaza Gerardo Barrios (tour starting point)
-Plaza Libertad, where the city was founded -El Rosario Church (Entrance: $1 USD for locals, $2 USD for foreigners)
-Cha Cha Cha restaurant
-Metropolitan Cathedral
-Archbishop Romero’s Crypt
-Central Market Finally, you’ll have the chance to taste traditional Salvadoran dishes.
Entrance fees for El Rosario Church are not included.

Keep in mind:
Wear comfortable shoes for a 2-hour 45-minute walk.
Bring 1 liter of water or purchase some at nearby stores. Don’t forget sunscreen and consider bringing a hat.

On arrival

I will be at the base of the statue in the middle of the plaza wearing a white t-shirt with the Agency Logo (Traveling Souls), a brown hat, and a red backpack.

Things to note

Here are some recommendations for the tour:

-The tour lasts around 2 and a half hours, so I suggest wearing comfortable shoes.

-Don't forget your sunscreen

-We are in raining season, so don't forget to bring an umbrella (In case it doesn't rain you can use it for the sun)

-Don't forget to bring cash for tickets for the National Palace and The Rosario Church (The opening to the public of these places may vary due to religious services and events at the National Palace). I suggest bringing the equivalent of $10 dollars in cash to avoid any inconvenience.
