Overview of the tour in Syracuse

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Pantalica Lato Sortino car park, and from there, we'll begin this hike around the Pantálica Nature Reserve, touching the fresh waters of the Calcinara River. Ready to hike?

We'll begin the hike within the nature reserve, located among the Calcinara and the Anapo Rivers. Characterized by deep gorges, Pantalica also boasts important archaeological sites dating back to the 13th century BC. Did you know that this location has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO?

We'll walk along the old excavated tombs in the rock and see inside one of the most imposing caves that will leave you stunned, the Grotta dei Pistrelli. In addition, we'll dive into the fresh waters of the Calcinara River.

After a dip, we'll walk upstream through the water and then take a break on the shore. Time to recharge our batteries! Here, you'll be able to enjoy a small snack you brought.

After 4 hours together, we'll bring this hike around the Pantálica Nature Reserve to an end back at the starting point.

On arrival

We'll decide where we meet by chatting. If you need I can pick you up from Syracuse, otherwise, we can meet directly at Pantalica parking Lato Sortino.

Things to note

I suggest you to bring with you:
- Swimsuit to wear during the hike.
- Something to eat during the walk.
- A hat to protect your head.
- Water.
- A towel.
