Treasures of Tunis Tour
Overview of the tour in Tunis
Enjoy a guided visit to Medina. Built during the 7th century, the Medina is the historical and cultural heart of modern Tunis, and a great place to get a feel for life in the city. Here, take a guided stroll through the labyrinth of narrow allies packed solidly with shops selling everything from tacky t-shirts and stuffed camels to high quality handicrafts. Then Proceed to the Bardo Museum, housed in the former Bardo Palace. The Roman collection contains one of the finest collections of Roman mosaics and statuary anywhere.
After that, continue to the impressive Ruins of Carthage and explore the impressive Baths of Antonius Pius and the amphitheater, the Punic ports as well the Carthage Museum.
Then enjoy the drive along the coast to the scenic village of Sidi Bou Said, set high on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of Tunis. Its maze of cobbled streets with old stone steps makes it a delightful place to go for a stroll. There will be ample time to stroll and admire the typical architecture and local handicrafts, or to relax in one of the local tea houses with some refreshing mint tea before returning to your location.
