Discover the Historic Uppsala
Overview of the tour in Uppsala
Uppsala is an elegant Swedish town just a few kilometers from Stockholm. The city is home to one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the world, the largest cathedral in Northern Europe (119m high, more than Florence Cathedral), and the famous Silver Bible in the Carolina Rediviva University Library.
Uppsala was also the birthplace of important academics and scientists such as Anders Celsius, Dag Hammarskjöld, Carl Linnaeus, and the famous film director Ingmar Bergman. On this tour, I will tell you about the history of the city as it relates to Swedish history and take you through the nooks and crannies of this little gem.
The tour includes an outside visit to the castle, Carl von Linnaeus Botanical Garden, Linneanum, Gustavianum, Carolina Rediviva, and especially an inside visit to the Cathedral!
