Route throught the Essential Valencia
Overview of the tour in Valencia
I am Sonia, and I graduated in Art History and Official Guide. Born in Valencia, it will be a privilege to show you my city!
I will explain to you the origins of Valencia and the different walled enclosures that the city has had. We will admire the spectacular Plaza de la Virgen, the Basilica de los Desamparados, and the fountain. Also, this square hosts a ceremony declared World Heritage.
We will continue to surround the cathedral and witness three cultures. The place where the current temple stands dedicated to the Assumption of Mary is the fruit of the passage of time of various previous cultures and religions, including Roman, Muslim, and Jewish. And on the route, we will see it.
In addition, the cathedral of Valencia guards a treasure: The Holy Chalice...
We will advance to the curious Plaza Redonda.
Also, we will see the Lonja de la Seda (UNESCO) and the Central Market, a wonderful example of Valencian modernist architecture.
We will continue walking along the old and stately Caballeros Street, where the beautiful church of San Nicolás is located.
And finally, we will arrive at the Torres de Serranos. This spectacular view will end the route.
