Valencia in Times of II Republic- War Route
Overview of the tour in Valencia
In the midst of the Civil War, the government of Largo Caballero decided to move to Valencia, which would be the capital of the government of the Republic for almost a year.
From the hand of a local official guide, you will get to know in depth the transformations that took place in the appearance of the city, in its streets, and in the most emblematic places, those that changed the course of history. I will also talk to you about the leading role of women and the prevailing art deco at the time.
You will discover the imprint of "Blasquismo" since the Valencian writer and politician Vicente Blasco Ibáñez was a key figure in the development of the city's republican spirit. You will visit various medieval palaces converted into ministries.
This activity includes:
- Calle de la paz
- Palace of the Borgias

We will meet under the clock on the main façade on Xátiva Street (NOT on Alicante Street, where Google shows the location).
You will recognize me because I will be wearing a lilac umbrella.
