Join us for an exciting tour of the vibrant museums in Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, two captivating cities close to each other. We’ll explore stunning residences and collections, including the belongings of significant figures such as the saltpeter magnate Pascual Baburizza, national hero Arturo Prat, and José Francisco Vergara, the founder of Viña del Mar. Discover the summer residence of the Chilean president in Cerro Castillo and learn the fascinating stories behind these landmarks.
In Valparaíso, we’ll visit the Baburizza Palace, home to a remarkable fine arts museum, followed by the house of Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda and the Maritime Museum.
In Viña del Mar, we’ll explore the Museums of Decorative Arts and Fine Arts, located in the historic house of the city's founders. Next, we’ll marvel at an original Moai sculpture from Easter Island and visit the Natural History Museum established by German anthropologist Francisco Fonck. Finally, we’ll stop by the workshop of cigar maker Fernando Rioja, showcasing the wealth of local families and the economic boom of the mid-19th century.

On arrival
The guide uses a badge with the logo of the company Still Travelling. If you're arriving in Valparaíso by bus from Santiago, the trip takes approximately 2 hours. You can reach Muelle Prat (Prat Pier) using Uber, an electric bus (trolleybus - Line 802), or a local bus, which costs around 400 Chilean Pesos (CLP) per person. Most local buses in Valparaíso arrive at Sotomayor Square. This short trip takes about 15 minutes. From the square, cross the main avenue to get to the sea.
Things to note
Check the weather in advance to decide the best clothes to wear. Comfortable clothes, walking shoes (casual or sporty), and a bottle of water are recommended. Do not forget your camera! For security reasons, keep your belongings with you and try not to become too separated from the group.
