“Beautiful experience with Badal!”
If you are in Varanasi and looking for a friendly and reliable guide, I recommend Badal! For Italians and Spaniards, you can call him Claudio. He is really a great person and makes you feel comfortable right away. He knows every corner of the city and manages to explain the local history and culture to you in an interesting and engaging way. “Lousy”
The guide never arrived, did not communicate, did not answer messages. This is the second time this has happened with Freetour. I think they do not have good quality tours.

“10/10 quality tour ”
Our Tour with Badal was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed every minute of it, he has alot of knowledge and could answer every question we had. He took us safely through the streets of Varanasi showing us things we would have not found by ourselves. We learned so much today and it was truly a treat to beeing able to experience Varanasi like this. Badal‘s tour is definitely high quality with everything you get to experience. We can highly recommend you spending a couple hours with him.

“Sadly, quite a disappointment despite high hopes”
The (possibly too young and immature) brahmin guide sadly expressed a disturbingly open anti-muslim and anti-lower caste sentiment when answering my various questions. There was no real candid dialogue such as on Free Tours in Europe. Later on the guide actually abused and harrassed me on whatsapp as he had deemed my tip not sufficient enough, despite leaving just about the average Free Tour tip sum for Europe, and I had to block him. Therefore, a disturbing and disappointment experience sadly, and certainly not the candid, sharp, live and engaging free tour experience that one can find across Europe.

“Guide did not show up”
Guide did not show up. When I arrived at the meeting point I asked texted and had no answer, then phoned, and found out that the tour was cancelled but he did jot inform me. I was already at the meeting point and it was past the meeting time when he told me. He excused himself and explained why, but he should have informed me at least 30 minutes before meeting time!

“Definitely the best guide in Varanasi”
From the very first minute the tour atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming. Badal is one of the kindest, most professional and attentive guide I have ever met. Besides, I loved how funny and open-minded person he is, it was so interesting to learn about this wonderful city from him. And of course, he definitely has immense amount of knowledge. “Good freetour in Varanasi ”
We did this freetour in English. Highly recommended and very enjoyable. They took us through the heart of the city, explaining a lot about the Hindu culture and religion, and we visited places that we would not have been able to find by ourselves.
