Today, this building houses a museum and a small hotel "Tembo", which is decorated in such a way as to remind fans of the legendary vocalist of the rock group "Queen" of their idol. The entrance fee is 10 dollars.
Old fort
Near the Stone Town embankment, on a cape jutting out into the sea, stands the Old Fort – an Arab fortress built in the late 17th – early 18th centuries and today the oldest structure in Zanzibar. Despite its venerable age, the fort is well preserved: the towers, massive fortress walls and ruins of the Portuguese chapel inside have survived.
