Stone Town ( Old Town ) is also known as Mji Mkongwe in the Swahili language. It is the old part of Zanzibar City, the main and capital city of Zanzibar. That contains a huge history since the original Local people of Zanzibar, Persians, Portuguese, then the Sultanate of Oman. The newer portion of the city is known as Ng'ambo, Swahili for 'the other side.'
